I tried reading The White Man's Burden by Someone Easterly. It is about how aid to Africa isn't all it is cracked up to be. I got about 50 pages in and decided not to read this book. It was a very boring book.
Instead I'd like to recommend I Found This Funny, edited by Judd Apatow. The first story, A Mother's Tale by James Agee is the saddest thing I have read since the first few pages of some Selby Jr. book that I couldn't stand to read. (A big Fuck You to my old boss for encouraging me to read that btw.)
I recall one Tim S. gave me back my copy of Vollmann's The Royal Family. He returned it after 5 years and part of it was singed from a fire. He is a bastard.
