9.25.10

As of my last trip outside it is balmy, warm, and yet it is technically autumn. How about that?

I PREDICT that today will be warm, if not chilly--aggravatingly chilly. The next few days will be unpredictable; the weather will oscillate wildly between the warm Indian summer you want and the frigid winter you need.

I know what you are thinking, "what about global warming? Surely that will make this a MILD winter of some sort." Well let me tell you something about global warming: no matter how much warming you think the globe is currently experiencing it has nothing on the amount of freezing poised to stab us like a frigid and icy knife...stabbing you in the eye. Get ready.

Also, a 40% chance of winds up to 20 mph--basing this on a trend.

Furthermore: new Walkmen album is a slight disappointment. New Thermals album is also a slight disappointment. But these albums are disappointing because they share a very small, basic continuity with their previous efforts. Because they tried something new they are commendable to the extreme. If Lisbon sounded like a track-for-track ripoff of You and Me, well, I suppose there'd be some scathing criticism deserved.
